My Childhood Nightmare

Transgender Education in Scottish Schools

It is the year 2020-21, I have decided to move from Czech to Scotland the most spiritual country I know.

I am very grateful that the origin of my parents has given me the privilege of being a dual national. That means that I am both Czech and Scottish, however Czech is my first language and English is my second language.

I have moved to Scotland because I wanted to improve my English Literacy and ENJOY the Education that Scotland Is renowned for providing.

When I went for my first day at school, I realized then that was not the CASE!

And that is where my biggest childhood nightmare started!

On Monday I got my timetable from the Office. I’ve been excited all day to get my timetable to see what subjects I have for this week and for the rest of the year. I recognised most of the subjects on my timetable, but there has been one subject that I have not recognized, P S E.

I wondered what does that mean? After one class finished, I had to make my way to this unknown class. But I don’t know how to get there. So I’ve asked my classmate how do I get there?

He replied, oh I’m going to that class too, I followed him. When I entered the classroom, I was greeted by my teacher Ms Thompson!

I sat at the front of the class, and after several attempts to get the class to be quiet, she finally got everyone’s attention. I was waiting in trepid anticipation for my enhanced learning to begin.

Ms Thompson has told me that I am a bit behind the class. You see the school semester has already started four weeks before my first school day, so yes, I was behind the class topic.

Finally the class started, and we talked about gender and how a man or a woman can change their sex.

My hand immediately raised without me even thinking about it, I’ve asked “what is it you are actually teaching us?”

Ms Thompson replied, “We are teaching you how to release your hidden inner feelings, that you might not know you have.”

So Ms Thompson continued, she showed us a video explaining more about gender and 25 other genders. But there was a problem she did not mention anything about a man or a woman’s gender.

After the video ended, I raised my hand again and said “Ms Thompson when you are born you have a gender Male or a Female, if you change that gender doesn’t that mean that you are Biologically not a Man or a Woman anymore?”

When I said that Ms Thompson suddenly called me Homophobic, not Inclusive and Discriminatory towards Trans Gender.

This is not true, I am not homophobic, non-inclusive or discriminatory towards trans gender.

Ms Thompson herself said that “We are teaching you how to release your hidden inner feelings, that you might not know you have.” and I have been denied my freedom of expression regarding Trans gender EDUCATION within schools.

My views are about Trans gender education’s place within school it is not about me disliking or having contempt for any person or individual who identifies with LGBTQ+. In fact I have a Trans gender friend Called Joe who identifies as being a male and was born a female.

This kind of education is not about teaching people’s differences this is about the Scottish Curriculum imposing ideologies within susceptible children and fostering a national narrative that includes criminalising anyone who has a different view by involving the Police and having innocent pupils charged with a hate crime.

I am still a child at 15 years old, I am being bullied and marginalised by the school for realising the Transgender Education being taught is something far different from what they claim it to be.

I am being accused of being a ‘thought criminal’ for having my own opinion that is not discriminatory or homophobic to protected characteristic groups, and this happening to you would be any child’s worst nightmare come true.
